FCI Event: Yoga, Meditation, and Conception Online Webinar, 6/11

We have an wonderful new online webinar informational session for those of you in the Chicagoland area and across the globe - our Yoga, Meditation, and Conception Online Webinar!

Tune in on Wednesday, June 11 at 7:00 PM CT to experience the presentation from our own Jennifer Hirshfeld-Cytron, MD of Fertility Centers of Illinois with guest Beth Heller, MS of Pulling Down the Moon.

They will be discussing the controversial link between stress and infertility. Learn what yoga is and how it may help you relax and be healthier during your journey.

Among the topics of discussion will be which types of yoga are most beneficial for fertility, whether yoga can be done during an IVF cycle or other ovarian stimulation and whether other yoga practices, including breathing and meditation have a role in promoting fertility.

Don't miss our informative seminar "Choosing Egg Donation as Your Path to Parenthood" at our

Glenview, Illinois location on Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm!

We'd love all interested individuals to come out and attend to this seminar to meet our psychologists, our Nurse Coordinator for couples considering using an egg donor, and the Egg Donor Recruiter for our Fertility Centers of Illinois in-house donor program. 

Topics covered will include: 

• What makes a child “yours” and how important are genetics to the way a child turns out?
• What motivates a woman to donate her eggs and how does she understand her role in this?
• What are the options for choosing a donor and what criteria do people employ?
• How do you (or don’t you) talk to a child about donor conception and what does it mean to them as they grow up? 

There will be plenty of time for your questions during the seminar!

FCI Past Patient Guest Blog: Renee Cohen & Family

Former patient, Renee Cohen, wrote in her own words about her journey to motherhood with Fertility Centers of Illinois. She wanted to share her experiences so that they could help anyone who might be going through the same struggles, pain and worry. Read on to experience her journey through her eyes.

It was about seven years ago my husband, Kevin, and I decided to start trying for a baby. We thought,
like many couples we knew, it would be so easy to start our family.

One month turned into six months, then a year.  It was very upsetting and frustrating that we had still not gotten pregnant.  My OB-GYN would finally see us and begin all the preliminary testing.  We had no real answers as to why we weren’t getting pregnant.  We did a few rounds of clomid and IUI’s with no success.  After 6 months of treatment, we decided it was time to move on and we asked our doctor to refer us to a fertility clinic.  Thankfully, she referred us to FCI.
